The surprises you find! This little guy was hanging out near my vegetable garden. He nicely held still long enough to get his picture taken. Posted by Picasa

More pictures! What do ya know, the weather improves and there's all sorts of stuff to take pictures of again!

This batch was taken in the early morning (between 7:00AM and roughly 10:00AM) on May 13, 2006 in Eldorado Canyon , an area above Boulder, Colorado. Colorado is a beautiful place to live and these pictures are just a few examples of why.

Artist shot! I like the way this one works with the broken off branch almost exactly lined up with the main trunk and the break. Posted by Picasa

Just a nice picture looking down into a valley.  Posted by Picasa

Close-up of a branch, probably a spruce of some variety.  Posted by Picasa

Nice close-up on pine cones still on the branch. Posted by Picasa

Blue sky and a contrail from a plane. Gotta love Colorado in the spring-time! Posted by Picasa

Artist shot! This was taken about 9:30AM sun shining through the branches of a tree; probably a pine of some variety. Posted by Picasa

Mother Nature will find a way. This is a fir tree growing rom a crevasse in a very large boulder. Posted by Picasa

Wow, water, in this blog what are the odds. Pretty water fall, not very fall up the canyon. Posted by Picasa

The same picture, but this time I've used a "filter" my sunglasses. Looks neat! Posted by Picasa

No idea what the flower is, but it was growing up the side of the rock and makes a nifty shot. Posted by Picasa

Using my handy dandy "filter" still don't know what kind of flower this is. Posted by Picasa

Finally! Some new pictures. For the second year in a row, Denver has hosted an Open Doors event for buildings and areas not usually open to the public are accessible and many of them can be photographed. One of the areas we could not photograph was the Temple Buell Theater, but we did get a tour of a backstage areas, and we were allowed on the stage; what thrill! Enjoy the pictures! Below are pictures from the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the Malo Mansion, the Governor's Mansion, and Coors Field.

Coors Field. It's baseball season, is there a prettier thing in the world in the spring other than a ball field? Posted by Picasa

The sign says it all. It's nice to get the shot, when they have a game there are so many people trying to get into the space that stopping to take pictures is impossible. Posted by Picasa

It's been a few months since any pictures were added, I hope this makes up for the drought. Below are twenty or so pictures taken from our recent trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. We were there December 2 through December 8, 2005 and had a great time and wonderful weather. It was fun seeing the various parks and hotels decorated for the holidays, and if you get the chance I recommend Disney in December. Smaller crowds and beautiful, sunny days.

This carosel at the Beach Club Resort is made of gingerbread and chocolate. The horses are carved from chocolate blocks and the entire thing is supposedly edible.  Posted by Picasa

Waterfall at the Japanese pavilion at EPCOT World Showcase. I like the composition on this one, and you knew I would get water in here somewhere! Posted by Picasa

At the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT World Showcase is a miniature train set up outside. Here is a trolley arriving at the station. Posted by Picasa

Another piece of the train display at the Germany Pavilion. Note the lizard, for some reason this little community is constantly over-run with the little guys. Posted by Picasa

It needs to be seen to be believed. This is part of Osborne Family LIghts in Disney-MGM. Literally millions of lights cover the buildings from roof to ground, along with various lighted statues, and sculptures. Posted by Picasa

It's been a few weeks, nothing really about to take pictures of aound the yard, so it was time for a road trip.

These pictures were taken Sept 10, 2005 at the Denver Botanical Gardens; just a beautiful place to visit.

This was just too perfect to pass up, framed and everything, all you needed to do was shoot. Posted by Picasa

This is my attempt to be artistic. This is a varigated weeping fig tree taken looking up the branches. Posted by Picasa

Beautiful fern in the orchid room, I thought it looked nifty Posted by Picasa

Orchids for any Nero Wolfe fans about.  Posted by Picasa

Another pretty flower, but I don't know what it's called. Posted by Picasa

No idea what it is, but it's purple, so I like it. Posted by Picasa

In the orchid room, they have misters for the plants. This is just a neat shot of the mist. Posted by Picasa

It's been rainy the past few days in the afternoons, so the birds have not been out as much. Every time I try to get a picture of the goldfinchs, they get camera shy and fly away.

The chickadees are back and the mourning doves have gone. The flickers are still about, and I see the owl very so often.

Sunny and warmer in Denver today. I'm still trying to get pictures of the various birds at the feeders. Today we only had an assortment of house finches so I took pictures of the insects instead.
